There is a definite chill in the air.....

...and it makes me want to bake...like this new recipe for pumpkin gingerbread to have with our evening coffee...

...and change to our warmer winter quilt...

...oops!...I woke up Dagi who was sound asleep on my pillow...

...but the begonia plant in my bedroom window which I bought for its beautiful leaves seems to think it is spring as this is the first time it has bloomed since I bought it two years ago...

Have a great weekend and keep warm!

  1. Well, maybe the plant likes your bedroom as much as Dagi does. Hope the weather is good at your
cottage this weekend. We have very cold but dry this morning. So far!!!!
That pumpkin ginger bread cake looks yummy. How can you lose with those two favorites.
    Be safe driving.
Louise and I are going to Amish Country today. She leaves Wed. for Florida.
    Love you, Mom

  2. The only thing is missing is a warm fire with a cup of tea or cider. Dagi looks so comfortable and warm, and the flowers are remarkable. The weather has been backwards this year-I'm not at all surprised about the blooms. What a great gift. Have a great weekend, Heidi and best wishes for you!

  3. Pumpkin gingerbread? Now that sounds delicious! I've only made "regular" gingerbread. Dagi is such a beautiful cat...his face is so exotic-looking.

  4. Where's the recipe for the pumpkin gingerbread? I cooked two pie pumpkins and froze the meat for later use. Your recipe sounds like a perfect use for it!

It was cold and raw today, so when I went out to run some errands, I wore the red scarf you crocheted for me last year. It kept me nice and warm.

  5. I love all those things about this time of year! I have bumpkin braed in the oven and flannel sheets on the bed.
    Dagi looks so comfy!
