"One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don't come home at night."
- Margaret Mead
Our sweet cat Adagio is still doing well even with the heat of our summer. He sleeps so much and eats less but then we eat less too when it is hot. He is not happy being alone anymore even just for a while so I try and stay with him as much as possible. We just feel so blessed that he is still with us and getting so old that we do not begrudge him this one little demand...all our time for his last years.
These are photos of Dagi back in our old house a few months before we moved. He is an indoor cat and will sit in the door opening without going out as he knows he is not allowed. This amazes most people that see it.

I was just thinking of Dagi the other day and wondering how he was doing. I am glad he is still with you. Patchie is getting more frail too as the years add up....as far as we know she is about 15 but my son rescued her so we don't know for sure. She too doesn't like to be left alone and can be found near me most of the time....especially when I am stitching....LOL....love those threads and yarn :)
ReplyDeleteZoe the king is a wonderful Cat. Maybe you really shouldn't say he is a C A T though. He knows he rules and he is a King.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are not here now, well, I am sorry you are not here anytime, but right now it is only 68 degrees at 2pm.
Don't melt Miss Elf, It wouldn't be pretty.
Love you, Mom
\PS: Hope you enjoyed supper in the garden tonight
O, sweet Dagi! Still going "strong".... Old men, like him and Rover needed to be served hand and foot, just because they deserve it. For being the best friend ever!
ReplyDeleteI hope that it cools off for you soon. So glad Dagi is doing well.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
He is such a beautiful cat! Hope he wasn't to upset you left him alone this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteSo precious! He knows what is proper :) . Kind of wish people did :D . Hope it cools off for you soon. He is such a delight to see. Take care! :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a well behaved Dagi - not exiting through an open door! Our cat, Sammy, was a stray for over a year. We've not tested it but I'm quite certain he's not as well behaved!
