Winter is finally here......

La Maison sous la neige (Henri Le Sidaner - 1936) was going to become the only winter scene we had this year. This painting was part of a beautiful exhibit in the Singer Museum.

We finally did see old man winter arrive this past weekend in the north of Holland. Cranberry Cottage became a white tipped painting.

"What a severe yet master artist old Winter is....
No longer the canvas and the pigments but the marble and the chisel."
John Burroughs, 1866
