No mantle place?

We have a free standing wood stove in our living room which means I have not got a pretty mantle to be able to decorate. Instead, I used a side table to get this kind of look.

Pumpkins and berries in a vase always work so well.

This year, I have a new little stitched piece to add to my Halloween decorations with this witch's game board. For me, seasonal decorating is centered around my quilts and stitched pieces.

  2. Lovely table - we have the same problem in our sitting room as we have a wood burner, but now have a cabinet round the radiator, so there's a little place for knick-knacks. I love your cross-stitcheries - what a lot of work though!

  5. It all looks so lovely Heidi. I really need to do something in the way of fall decorating. The last couple of years I have done nothing. You have inspired me to get out there this weekend and find some good buys to decorate with.

  6. Very cute. I love the pumpkins on the vases, looks like a topiary. I love how the orange pumpkins add so much color at this time of year. Fall is really my favorite. I've been enjoying photos on Pinterest of fall. I have a mantle, but it might be an idea for another room. Thanks.

  7. Your vignettes are always so pretty. I don't have a mantle over my fireplace either, but no matter - we always find alternate ways to "pretty" our homes, don't we? :-)
