Eggheads!

On weekends when we are at Cranberry Cottage, we sometimes like to take drives out in the country. The areas around the cottage are so beautiful. I love driving to look at farms and dream we lived in one of them. I should have been a farmer's wife. *grins*

But last weekend, we took a different road home and came across a field of chickens. Now that always catches my eye since I dream of having chickens one day. Then we saw a little self-help roadside stand. They had brown and white free range eggs. We bought some of both. Why is it that when you buy eggs direct from a farm they taste so much better? And we think eggs bought in the north of Holland taste egg-stra special!

  1. Mooie post Heidi. Zo kopen wij ook altijd onze eieren. Ik zou ook best zo'n winkeltje aan huis willen hebben, maar woon helaas ook niet op een boerderij. Wij dromen nog maar even verder.
    Lieve groet,

  3. You think everything in the North is better. You need to just move there. You need to convince Jos you need a country home.
    Love you, Mom

  4. Okè, now listen to you Mother!! Lets do that and build a great cozy black (bielzenzwarte) shed close by, where I can live in. And besides the chickens, we need sheep, dogs and cats! (And start our own quiltshop...)

  5. Your mom has some good advice! I have always loved farmhouses ~ just not so about all the work that goes into running a farm! Instead of chickens, I have always loved sheep! I agree that anything straight from the farm tastes much better!
